The major event in healthcare and health tech, HIMSS22 Europe, will be held as a physical event in June at Helsinki. The industry-leading European congress will showcase the world’s best digital health innovations and bring together companies, experts and decision-makers developing them, along with a state-of-the-art programme and an extensive exhibition. Helsinki was chosen as the venue for the congress due to its innovative reputation.

The international summit brings together the European healthcare community face-to-face after two pandemic years. The event was virtual during the two previous years.

Thousands of health influencers and decision-makers are expected to come to Helsinki, and the congress programme will feature more than 120 healthcare and health technology experts and thought leaders from around the world. In addition to lectures, panel discussions and workshops, participants will also be shown Finnish expertise in practice by arranging visits to places of interest within the health sector.

”Helsinki was chosen as the venue for the congress due to its innovative reputation and we do have things to brag about. We have internationally superior research, a unique testbed network, and we are aiming at significant growth in healthcare expertise and the business based on it. We are able to provide strong support for both research and innovation activities and the development of life science and health technology companies,”

says Marja-Leena Rinkineva, Director of Economic Development at the City of Helsinki, and welcomes international guests to the congress.

Finland’s pioneering spirit in digital health reflected in the programme

The Finnish partners of the event are City of Helsinki with its Health Capital Helsinki project, Business Finland, The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, University of Helsinki, HUS Helsinki University Hospital, Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Turku Science Park, Kuopio Health, OuluHealth, and the event site Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

“Finland presents its vision for a more sustainable, safer and smarter future for health.”

”The Finnish partners of the congress will produce their own programme for the congress, which will strongly highlight Finland’s pioneering role in accelerating digital change. We present our own vision for a more sustainable, safer and smarter future for health. We have chosen three globally interesting themes: active ageing, data utilisation and the construction of intelligent, customer and care-centric hospitals,”

says Kari Klossner, Programme Director for Business Finland’s Smart Life Finland programme.

The HIMSS Insights publication series published recently an eBook that anticipates the same themes, presenting Finland’s pioneering work in developing health data records and utlisation, private-public partnerships and the country’s health ecosystem. Get your free copy here.

The Finnish Pavilion presents Finnish companies to an international audience

The Finnish Pavilion with its dozens of stands is a showcase of Finnish companies for the international audience: healthcare professionals and management, pharmaceutical and health tech corporate CIOs and executives, government officials, service providers, innovators, and other companies operating in the same field. The exhibition also connects investors and startups in an effective way.

”It is worth it to use of HIMSS22 Europe to attract investments. We will market the event to international decision-makers and investors, e.g. at the HIMSS22 global congress in Orlando, U.S., in March, 2022. Every healthcare operator and company should ensure their place in the event, as there will be thousands of direct contacts and discussions with a selected and influential international audience,”

says Business Manager Lumia Ankkuri from Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, who oversees Finland’s stand.

Registration for the congress with early bird benefits is now open and previews of the programme can be viewed on the congress website.
