The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is the largest single-site cancer centre in Europe treating more than 60,000 patients a year. In just 4 months, The Christie team developed a suite of 24 ePROM forms using Better low-code tools. The rollout of the ePROMs is a part the trust’s five-year strategy to modernise its electronic health record underpinned by openEHR data standards. We will look into how The Christie has completely reimagined their architecture with data at the core and hear about the advantages of the service they are already seeing.

2 – Cattedra: An innovative diagnosis of rare diseases in children 2 November 2022 14:00 CET

Through the Cattedra project, the children’s hospital IRCCS Burlo Garofolo in Trieste, Italy, and the paediatrics department at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana in Slovenia (UMCL), aimed to bring together, share, and improve the therapeutic methodologies and diagnostic possibilities of rare diseases in children in the area of paediatric rheumatology. We will hear how Better used its Digital Health Platform and openEHR standard to set up four registries for improving the above-mentioned possibilities, as well as strengthening collaboration between the two hospitals and increasing knowledge about juvenile autoimmune diseases in neighbouring regions.

3 –Infobanco: Innovative use of health data for research and analysis 16 November 2022 14:00 CET

The Infobanco project aims to develop an innovative architecture for a regional health data network. It consists of the data extraction from different clinical, administrative, and other information systems and then normalising it to different repositories for different purposes. All clinical data for this project at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid, which is one of the most prestigious national and international health centres, is stored in an openEHR format using the Better Platform. You will learn about different technologies and tools that are helping the hospital to build different clinical applications without long development cycles.

The Urgent Care Plan is a platform that serves the entire London region, covering approximately 10 million people, 5 Integrated Care Systems, 1400 general practices, over 40 NHS Trusts, and 33 local authorities. It ensures that care is tailored to personal needs and delivered as close to home as possible and supports a collaborative and data-first approach to improving technology, information governance, and how health and care services are provided and experienced across London. We will see how the end-of-life, because it is a complex area, was a good test of the platform approach and how Better supported all the complexities that come with it.

5 -The Slovenian National EHR: 85 % of health data stored on the open platform 14 December 2022 14:00 CET

Being part of the Slovenian national e-health project, the Slovenian Centralised Registry of Patient Data provides an integrated care record that makes data available for any digital services. Based on the Better platform, the system enables secure access to and exchange of information and an accurate patient summary and provides health professionals with access to the information they need. In the last 10 years, the system has integrated 1.500 health providers and has stored over 250 million clinical records for 2.1 million unique individuals. We will also hear how during the Covid-19 pandemic, the platform provided real-time reporting on the national level, SMS reporting was established in only 14 days, and the national EU Digital Covid Certificate was launched in 3 weeks.
