Digital Health Week 2024: Data Solidarity - Key Concepts and Future Directions

How can a solidarity-based approach to data governance help to maximise the health benefits of data whilst protecting people from harm? To find out, join us for an engaging virtual panel discussion on data solidarity, organised by the Digital Transformations for Health Lab and the Data Solidarity Team at the University of Vienna.

This event will focus on a newly published Data Solidarity Glossary which seeks to clarify data solidarity and other relevant concepts. Following an introductory presentation, a diverse intergenerational panel will share insights on the benefits and challenges of applying data solidarity in the health sector.

Participants will have an opportunity to explore the Data Solidarity Glossary and take part in an interactive Q&A.

  • Professor Barbara Prainsack (University of Vienna);
  • Connor Hogan (University of Vienna);
  • DTH-Lab Regional Youth Champion;
  • PharmAccess Kenya.

Discover more about DTH-Lab:

Trusted and inclusive governance architectures based on data solidarity, human rights and other Health for All values are critical to ensure that digital transformations deliver safe and sustainable health futures for young people. The DTH-Lab works with young people to co-create and test a new ‘framework for governing health futures’ comprising a set of proposals for policies, instruments and legislation that build trust in health ecosystems and maximize the public value and health benefits of data and AI. The University of Vienna is a key partner of the DTH-Lab and will deliver core outputs of this work under the supervision of Barbara Prainsack, Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of the interdisciplinary research platform Governance of Digital Practices.
