PULSE at the 17th ICOST Conference

Our international project PULSE is glad to announce that will organize the 17th ICOST Conference. After sixteen successful editions and building upon the experienced background of the conference founder Istitut Mines-Télecóm, the ICOST 2019 will be hosted by New York University (NYU) and the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) in New York City, USA, from 14th to 15th October 2019. This year, the organizers have decided to open the conference to public health experts and tackle emerging challenges related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for health and wellbeing. ICOST provides a premier venue for the presentation and discussion of research in the design, development, deployment and evaluation of Artificial Intelligence for health, Smart Urban Environments, Assistive Technologies, Chronic Disease Management, Coaching and Health Telematics systems. This year, ICOST aims at understanding and assessing how research impacts Public Health policies in facing emerging social and economic challenges. To this purpose, ICOST2019 brings together stakeholders from clinical, Public Health Organizations (PHOs), academics and industrial perspectives along with end users and family caregivers to explore how to utilize technologies to foster health prevention, independent living, and offer an enhanced quality of life. In particular, among the specific uses cases, PULSE will be presented and its results showcased with specific emphasis to the launch of the Public Health Observatory which is expected by the end of this summer. The conference features a dynamic program incorporating a range of technical, clinical, and industrial related keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations along with demonstrations and technical exhibits. We look forward to welcoming you to ICOST2019 in New York City! For more information follow @PulseProjectEU1 and @ICOST_conf.
About PULSE PULSE is a H2020 project aimed to improve predictive analytics and risk detection in cities as well as influence lifestyles and behaviour. In terms of public health risk, the project analyses the environmental and behavioural determinants of disease onset by focusing in particular on the link between air pollution and asthma, and between physical inactivity and Type 2 Diabetes. Moreover, in terms of public health resilience, the project is addressing community wellbeing and its relation with health outcomes. The final goal is to build extensible models and technologies to predict, mitigate and manage public health problems and implement a Public Health Observatory which will serve as linked hub that utilises knowledge-driven processes and big data to shape intersectorial public policies and service provision.
