Developing Evidence Standards for Digital Healthcare Technologies in Wales

What does good evaluation of digital healthcare technologies look like? How can you gather the right evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of your new product or service? How do you know which technology will deliver the right outcomes? In December 2018 NICE, working with Public Health England, MedCity and DigitalHealth.London, launched new standards for evaluation to ensure new technologies are clinically effective and offer economic value. The standards are intended to make it easier for innovaters and commissioners to understand what good evidence for digital healthcare technologies looks like. Health Technology Wales and the Digital Health Ecosystem Wales are holding a workshop reviewing the NICE standards to help us understand what evidence standards for Wales could look like. We will hear from people involved in the development of the NICE standards and have a workshop session to look at the issues or barriers to these standards in Wales. In order to make this event as useful and productive as possible, attendees are expected to have read the Standards in advance, which are available here: https://www.nice.org.uk/about/what-we-do/our-programmes/evidence-standards-framework-for-digital-health-technologies The event will start with coffee and registration at 9:30 and finish with lunch provided at 1pm.
