February 2018 Newsletter
Bringing needs and solutions together for
the future of Health
Welcome to the February update

2017 was a record year for ECHAlliance. Current members renewed and we had many new members join, as well as many more EU Projects than ever before. We've also seen more consultancy business and development of the Ecosystem Network, amongst others.

In 2018 we expect continued growth in all our activities. Our team is expanding, we're establishing legal entities in Europe to cope with Brexit. We have agreed with the many stakeholders in the Digital Health Society that this will continue, and we continue to respond to the H2020 opportunities on behalf of our members.
We have much to do, and we are grateful to all our members and our many partners for their continued support.

The Digital Health Society (DHS) gets to work!

The Digital Health Society (DHS) movement started in Tallinn during the Estonian EU Presidency in October 2017. 200+ organisations from across Europe and beyond have now joined and the first DHS brainstorming session was in Brussels on 30th January, looking at the structure and approaches for the four Task Forces. Designed to produce ideas and generate debates, the session, limited to 50 participants, allowed DHS members to discuss and decide on the DHS 2018 Action Plan.

All information about DHS is available online and any questions should be sent to

To Go or Not To Go?
That is the question members of our community have been asking. The question concerns Events, as there are so many of these now that it is impossible to attend, participate, speak at or sponsor all of them. We believe in Events as one of the ways to know what is happening, to provide networking opportunities and to make contacts.
As an organisation which is not a conference organiser, (though we sometimes feel like one,) we have been asked to answer the question and provide guidance to our members. There are constraints on budgets, on time and there are concerns that there are too many similar events. We have studied the market, listened to many people and decided, as a first step to recommend a list of events. Our experience tells us CONTENT is king and sometimes the emphasis is on numbers etc.
We are preparing an Initial list of 2018 ECHAlliance Flagship Events and will publish that soon. This will include selected events in Europe
,China, Canada and U.S.A. More information will follow in coming months.
