ON-LINE! DigitalHealthEurope’s Catalogue available now. 65 solutions to support the digital transformation of health and care
Horizon 2020

DigitalHealthEurope (DHE) has launched a Catalogue of digital solutions which are the result of EU-funded projects and initiatives that address challenges related to the European Commission’s key policy priorities for the digital transformation of health and care:

  • citizens’ secure access to and sharing of health data across borders
  • better data to advance research, disease prevention and personalised health and care
  • digital tools for citizen empowerment and person-centred care.

The DHE team screened more than 1,000 projects from different sources, that had mostly received a variety of forms of EU funding in the past: ICT for Health, Wellbeing & Ageing; Horizon 2020; 7th Framework Programme; Active Assisted Living Programme; innovative practices from the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, and MAFEIP use cases.

The 65 selected practices were catalogued according to their alignment to Europe’s three key digital policy priorities and their suitability for scaling-up (relevance, maturity, added value and transferability). Furthermore, among the advantages to be one of the selected solutions, there is the opportunity to benefit of funding advice, twinnings, and capacity building.

The resulting Catalogue of digitally enabled solutions for person-centered care can be searched by using a range of different selection criteria, which include:

  • policy priorities,
  • availability on the market,
  • key words,
  • geographical scope,
  • type of stakeholder involved.

The Catalogue will be continuously updated and the experiences documented will be examples that will help other stakeholders and will encourage participation.

If you are the owner of a mature and replicable digital solution addressing Europe’s three key digital health and care policy priorities, you can send the details of your solution at info@digitalhealtheurope.com. The DHE team will assess it and get back to you about the opportunity to include it in the Catalogue.

Moreover, this Catalogue represents the main output of the project’s Work Package (WP) 1 – Digital solutions for person-centred integrated care, that together with the WP2 and WP3 aim at supporting the large-scale deployment of digital solutions.

Within this WP, ECHAlliance, as leader of the T1.4 – Support to supply and demand side, will analyse the drivers and barriers to the implementation at scale of person-centred health and care solutions and the need to mobilise investments, thereby focusing on both the demand side (policy-makers, healthcare providers, patients/citizens, insurers) and the supply side (large companies, start-ups and SMEs, researchers).

This task will build on the results collected through the Catalogue, as well as several other repositories and European publications and networks, aiming identify good initiatives and/or approaches that bring an added value to the implementation at scale of person-centred care solutions. It will also pursue the identification of countries and regions where there are few or no examples of person-centred care solutions and study the barriers which are preventing them to be adopted.

To this purpose, a list of relevant stakeholders for both situations listed above is being created to perform in-depth interviews that may bring relevant inputs to the theme. To this purpose and with the intent to enrich the stakeholder base, synergies with the EIP on AHA Innovation to Market (I2M) initiative, which ECHAlliance leads, are being explored as well.

By June 2020, DHE will provide a template for Guidelines to overcome technical barriers to integrated care investments, as an easy-to-use tool to implement person-centred care solutions Europe-wide.
