Flash report

The Steering Group on Promotion and Prevention met on 26 October 2017 in Brussels. Representatives of 27 Member States and European Commission services discussed the selection of best practices, which could be subject for prioritisation and funding in the coming years.

In addition, the Steering Group reflected on the future priorities for best practices and the role of the Steering Group in ensuring multi-sectoral collaboration in the field of public health, particularly through research projects and by addressing public health priorities in other policies.

Director General of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety Xavier Prats Monné concluded the meeting by outlining the European Commission's plans to formalise the Steering Group on Promotion and Prevention, which would help support Member States in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
