The Care @ Home Innovation Scoping Study Network held their meeting on Thursday 7 September 2017 at the Smart Lab facility, Ulster University, Jordanstown campus.

The meeting began with a tour of the Smart Lab including demonstrations of a number of products developed by the University, details of engagement between the University and local home care organisations and a potential partnering opportunity was identified by two of the network members.

A Stakeholder Map and Directory of Skills and Capability have also been developed which define key stakeholders, skills and competence of network member companies and the technology based products and services available from NI companies.

Several Living Lab facilities have been identified from which best practice can be determined – this can be used in Northern Ireland to learn from best practice across the world and, where Northern Ireland display best practice, to share outside the region using connections from the ECHAlliance and C@HIN CN linkages.

Discussion on the scope of needs took place and the meeting agreed that a sub-group would be formed to determine how to pinpoint the most likely areas of impact for those involved.

The next meeting will form part of the NI Ecosystem meeting on 5 October where a keynote speaker on Care@ Home and a break out session on Care @ Home will form part of the agenda.
