The QuickFix Learning Hub’s STOP THE BLEED® Kenya Initiative has made remarkable strides in equipping Kenyan communities with essential bleeding control skills. In just eight weeks, the initiative has trained 408 individuals across five counties; Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Mombasa, and Kajiado – achieving 20% of its ambitious 2025 target to train 2,025 people nationwide.

According to the National Transport and Safety Authority, 13 people lose their lives every day on Kenyan roads, with severe bleeding being the leading cause of preventable death following injury. This grassroots effort empowers diverse groups, including boda boda riders, school staff, market vendors, and volunteers, with life-saving knowledge that can significantly reduce fatalities by controlling severe bleeding before professional medical help arrives. The initiative’s impact is a testament to the power of community led action in strengthening emergency response capacity.

Recent collaborations with partners such as UCESCO Africa, Little App Kenya, the Youth Initiative Development Programme, and the Kenya Scouts Association have been instrumental in expanding the program’s reach. Additionally, engagement with Avant Healthcare Professionals has opened avenues for international cooperation in emergency medical training and workforce development.

By fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience, the STOP THE BLEED® Kenya Initiative exemplifies how targeted training and strong partnerships can improve public health outcomes and save lives in low-resource settings.
