The 4P-CAN consortium held a successful meeting in Chișinău, hosted by the Municipality’s General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance. The event brought together project partners to review ongoing efforts and chart future strategies for improving cancer prevention in Central and Eastern European countries. Key highlights from the first day (31 March) included updates on cancer risk factor assessments, the development of the Living Labs in Romania and Bulgaria to foster community-driven innovation, and initiatives to combat cancer-related misinformation online. 4P-CAN Coordinator Dr. Marius Geantă emphasised the importance of collaboration with EU initiatives like the Prevention and Early Detection Cluster, the ECHoS project and EU Missions to build synergies in tackling cancer challenges.
A practical workshop on impact pathway monitoring was facilitated by Dr. Bettina Ryll from ECHoS on the second day (1 April), making project partners reflect on how to translate cancer prevention efforts into measurable outcomes for communities. Finally, a roundtable on the last day (2 April) explored Moldova’s potential alignment with European cancer prevention initiatives, featuring insights from Moldovan stakeholders. The meeting reinforced 4P-CAN’s commitment to data-driven, community-oriented cancer prevention, laying a strong foundation for regional cooperation and integration with broader European health initiatives.
