The inaugural meeting of the Highlands and Islands Ecosystem took place on the 26th of November in Inverness.

Twenty nine participants attended this first meeting with a further 2 people joining online, and heard presentations on the rural mental challenges across the region and about projects/initiatives underway.

We were delighted to welcome Andy Bleaden, International Projects Manager at ECHAlliance, to our first meeting and look forward to working with the ECHAlliance and other Ecosystems going forward.

We concluded our first meeting with workshop sessions on rural mental health and active healthy ageing, and a networking lunch.  All the presentations and workshop outputs can be accessed at the SRHP’s website www.uhi.ac.uk/srhp

We’ve also created a private LinkedIn Group for our Ecosystem where members and individuals can post their comments and contribute to our discussions on rural mental health and active healthy ageing.

Our next meeting is on the 25th of February in Inverness. Contact Karen.ohanlon@uhi.ac.uk for information or to get involved.
