ECHAlliance will participate at "Financing integrated care and population health management" 22 May

Brian O’Connor, Chair at ECHAlliance will participate at the event "Financing integrated care and population health management" 22 May, the Netherlands 

The event is co-organized by the European Commission DG Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE); the International Foundation for Integrated Care; the Leiden University Medical Center Campus The Hague; and the Dutch National Institute of Public Health and the Environment. 
It takes place as a follow-up to the seminar "Strategic investments for the future of healthcare" which was organized by DG SANTE in February 2017 ( and as a pre-conference to ICIC18 – the 18th International Conference on Integrated Care (
Dr Ernst van Koesveld, deputy DG for Long Term Care and director the Health Insurance department from the Ministry of Health will open the pre-conference.
The event is planned as a half-day seminar to:

  • discuss what is needed to mobilise investments for large scale deployment of integrated care and population health management solutions,
  • create awareness of financing opportunities, such as those from the Investment Plan for Europe,  
  • reflect on important actions that may be considered by the stakeholder community, and
  • provide suggestions on how to address these.

The event will gather European representatives from national and regional health authorities who are responsible for health policies and for investment strategies in health, healthcare managers and health service providers, as well as public and private investors active or interested in this field. The event aims to assist health authorities and investors in their efforts to channel new forms of investments in the health sector. Innovative approaches for investments and contracting in the sector will be presented, followed by discussions around key questions and challenges.
