Digital Health Friesland launched its Ecosystem at the symposium celebrating 10 years of Platform GEEF on 15 November in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. ECHAlliance was there represented by Mikaela Nordenfelt.

Platform GEEF, the working group of the Ecosystem, representing 16 stakeholders in the region is leading the way in developing knowledge that supports living longer at home for older people.

During the symposium with around 120 participants, highlights from the past 10 years of the Platform were given by Director Erik Zwierenberg along with a presentation of a recent mapping of housing corporations and a tour in the renovated living lab “House of the Present”. ECHAlliance gave a presentation introducing the International Network of Ecosystems and welcomed Digital Health Friesland to the network.

As stated by the moderator and chair of the Platform GEEF, Rein Swart: “Connecting to a European network gives the Platform and Digital Health Friesland the opportunity to share knowledge with other Ecosystems around Europe and beyond. It is interesting to look at approaches in other regions so that we can learn and do the right things.”

The launch event combined the 10th anniversary of the GEEF-Foundation, the opening of the renovated Living Lab "House of the Present" and joining the International Network of Permanent Connected Health Ecosystems.
