POSTPONED - Rethinking Remote 2020

Rethinking Remote 2020 will be our third conference focussing on innovative solutions in remote and rural health and wellbeing. Each year the conference has grown and developed. What makes the conference special is the cross sector sharing of information, ideas, research and solutions from experts both locally and from across the globe. It provides a showcase for the sharing of practical initiatives that are already making a difference to the health and wellbeing of remote and rural communities. This year we have moved the conference to the MacDonald Aviemore Resort to ensure that the auditorium, accommodation, exhibition area, posters and workshops are all within one purpose built complex. By combining the delegate rate, dinner and accommodation into one conference package we have also managed to reduce the cost to delegates from previous years.     Agenda  08.30am – 09.30am         REGISTRATION  COFFEE/TEA 09.30am – 09.35am         Welcome 09.35am – 10.00am         KEYNOTEJeanne Freeman Cabinet Secretary Scottish Government PLENARY 1 10.00am – 10.30am         Michael Sautter Rethinking simulation-based healthcare quality Improvement: how to space and time may be turned from constraints to advantages. 10.30am – 11.00am         Dr. Peder Jest How to deliver health care services to citizens in remote areas and small-scale communities by using individualised health care technology 11.00am – 11.30am          TEA / COFFEE 11.30am – 12.45pm         Workshops / Oral Presentations 2.45pm – 2.15pm             LUNCH EXHIBITION and POSTER VIEWING 02.15pm – 03.30pm        Workshops /Oral Presentations 03.30pm – 04.00pm       TEA / COFFEE PLENARY 2 04.00pm – 04.30pm        Dr. Rikard Moen Challenges, governance and competencies in working remotely 04.30pm – 05.00pm        Col.Prof. Mike Smith Prolonged care in remote environments 5.00pm                 CLOSE 7.00pm                 CONFERENCE DINNER Friday 1st May 08.30am – 09.00am         REGISTRATION TEA / COFFEE 09.00am – 09.30am         KEYNOTE Ian Stewart  09.30am – 10.00am          Assoc Prof. Ewan McPhee Rural and remote practice in the era of the rural generalist: inspiring the future 10.00am – 10.30am         Clare Morrison NHS Near Me: using video consulting to improve access to care 10.30am – 11.00am          TEA/COFFEE 11.30am – 12.15pm           Workshops / Oral Presentations PLENARY 4 12.15pm – 12.45pm        Dr. Steve F.
