Brain drain – mitigating challenges associated with population decline (communication)

Brain drain – mitigating challenges associated with population decline (communication)
Initiative, European Commission
Member News

Brain drain is the emigration of qualified people whose skills are scarce in their place of origin. Its negative effects can occur at national or regional level and can exacerbate problems in regions suffering from population decline.

The public consultation on the forthcoming initiative of the Commission will look into the different drivers of brain drain, its long-term consequences for the EU and potential comprehensive solutions to stop or even reverse it.

The Commission would like to hear your views. The call for evidence is open for feedback. Your input will be taken into account as the Commission further develops and fine-tunes this initiative.

The deadline for contributions is 21 June.
